Take these steps to develop a killer remote work morning routine
Here are 3 helpful ways to prepare a morning routine for your remote job that will allow you to be ready, present, and focused when you log on.
Step 1: Prepare Your Body For Success
Treat your morning like you would any other work morning.
Set your alarm.
Get up.
Take a shower.
Do your hair.
Put on deodorant.
Brush your teeth.
These are essential daily self-hygiene steps we all need to be presentable whether it is on Zoom or the conference room.
What to wear? Put on clothes appropriate for your position. Dress for your audience, and for yourself. Having the right clothes on can put you in the right mindset to work and be ready when the camera is on.
There’s something to be said for a uniform, it lets you and others know that you are there to get the job done- whatever it may be.

Step 2: Feed Your Body And Your Soul
Be sure to eat something that will give you energy through the morning. Have snacks readily available at your workspace. This will allow you to focus and not have break your concentration.
Instead, have it close at hand so you can keep work mode in work mode- and house mode outside of the home office.
Take a few moments to meditate, pray or center yourself in some way so that you are settled and ready to head into “the office.”

Step 3: Have A Before Work Commute
My workplace is in the office behind my house. I intentionally leave through my garage like I’m going to my car and go for a quick walk around my block. On this walk I intentionally leave my home worries at home. I pray for my family and think about the coming day.
When I get back home, I go through the back gate and enter my office from the back. This allows me to put my brain in work mode. It also signals to my family that I am at work and need to be left to work.

Taking these steps will help get your mind and body ready for whatever the day may bring you in your remote job.
